Simple but difficult

Tedoku is a mix between Tetris and Sudoku with drag-and-drop functionality.

Your goal is to fill the vertical or horizontal lines as well as 3x3 squares like usual Sudoku 1-9 numbers but using shapes resembling the traditional Tetris game.

And just like in Tetris once you fill up the row the blocks are gone allowing space for new shapes as well as rewarding well-deserved points.

Run out of space and it's a Game-Over! Or as Gamers say these days GG!!!

Gameplay

The gameplay is quite simplistic but there are a few things to keep in mind.

  1. Drag the pieces from outside of the game board to the play area and drop them as you see fit.
  2. Match 9 tiles in either row, column, or 3x3 square matching game grid.
  3. Once you match the tiles you will clear up the space and earn points!
  4. Avoid making gaps that will be later hard to fill up.
  5. You are rewarded more points for making combination clears of more than a single set of 9 tiles.
  6. While doing combinations you will also get rewarded rotation points allowing you to rotate the shapes.
  7. Rotation buttons rotate both shapes same direction, so plan carefully before you click!
  8. As a game progresses there is a higher chance for more difficult shapes to appear making the game increasingly harder.
  9. Play better every time to improve your highscores!!!

Difficulty settings

  • For every group of tiles destroyed you are rewarded 9 points (one for each tile)
  • While destroying a combination, a player is rewarded for each group even if they cross paths. A combination of 2 will reward 18 points regardless if they have the same tiles as in the first example above
  • The combination also adds additional 50% points
  • Easy
    • The combination also rewards the player with rotation points if 2 or more sets are destroyed in a single turn
    • The player always starts easy mode with 3 rotation points
  • Medium
    • The player is rewarded 20% more points
    • Medium game mode has higher chance for difficult shapes to show up
    • A minimum of 3 combination groups are required to earn rotation point
    • The game starts with 2 rotation points
  • Hard
    • 40% more points are rewarded for playing the hardest difficulty
    • Hard game mode has highest chance for difficult shapes to show up
    • With this mode, at least 4 combination groups are required to earn rotation point
    • The game starts with 1 rotation point

Final Thoughts

Keep in mind that by rotating shapes you rotate both of them. This can also be a curse or a blessing, some shapes can not be flipped at all as they are identical in every direction. Some others may have a perfect spot if you clear just the right line or a column but by flipping it you may lose the chance.
